Hello again.Well me and my friends are into the next stage of our Legends of War game, we made a HQ and two troops now the next step is upping the points value of the armies. We decided to go with 1,000 points. and so the first model i made was my Master of Ordinance.
Now Why did I pick this model for my army? Well this is a tank army and i can fit only so many tanks so I need to have more...off the table! Yes this is a Tank division of the Mechanica so I need more tanks even if I have to pretend they are there to have them.
Also i do like their rules alot. You are getting a Large Blast template St 9 AP 3 barrage 1 weapon for only 30 points.
And what you get isn't half bad. You have unlimited range, and you get to reduce the distance the pie-plate goes by 4 if the Master of ordinance can see his target. yeah the gun still scatters no matter what you do but still the weapon is pretty sound when it hits, it keeps the enemy on their toes cause they have no clue what you will fire at with it, and this is a little nasty trick it can use the "Fire on My target" command so you can have those annoying units in the back in the building be forced to re-roll their cover save if they are hit which is a major plus.
All in all
Pros:
A.Cost; it is really cheap and you get alot for only 30 points making this unit worth taking
B. Power; this is a Str. 9 AP 3 Large Ordinance Barrage 1 for the points your paying you are getting a gun equivalent to the Basilisk
C. unlimited Range; no place is safe from the powerful blast of the Basilisk off on the horizon.
D. Uses commands; this shot can benefit from "Fire on my Target"
E. High BS; The Master of Ordinance has a BS 4 so when he can see the target he knocks off the same number of inches as a Space Marine
Cons:
A. Triple Dice: when missing the Master of Ordinance rolls 3 d6's for Scatter
B. Line of Sight; if the Master of Ordinance can't see he doesn't get to take his BS off the range scattered
C. Hit!; even if the Master of Ordinance rolls a hit on the scatter dice it still scatters in the direction the arrow on the hit icon is pointing, but it allows the Master of Ordinance to roll only 2d6s instead of 3
D. Heavy Weapon; Despite it just being a guy with a data pad its still a heavy weapon so if you move then he can't fire forcing you to stay right where you are but if your like me and never plan to have your Command Platoon move this is not a issue.
That is the Master of ordinance as i see it I love it i hope you do too if not oh well. Here he is compared to my Vox-caster of my command platton

Until next time!
